The Spokane Sounders are pleased to announce that coach Jason Bellefeuille has been named to the new U10-U12 Girls Director of Coaching position, forging an integrated transition from the U9/U10 Sounders Junior Program into the developmental competitive programs.

Bellefeuille has been a longstanding component within the girls staff that has seen unprecedented success over the years at all ages and levels as seen in the performance of teams and players in the Girls Academy, RCL and DPL, including the recent accomplishment of qualifying for the GA Champions Cup.

“Jason has helped lead the way of our club having the top girls program in the area. Jason is the perfect person to continue and grow the development of our girls programming as we aim to facilitate a more seamless graduation for our girls players through the U10, U11 and U12 years. Jason’s belief in our club philosophy and the SSC Shadow Way is integral in the development of our youngest ages,” said Technical Director Abbas Faridnia. “Jason will continue to guide our youngest players into an extremely successful girls program that has seen our club produce some of the entire northwest region’s best teams and players at the competitive full-sided age groups that as groups have played in national champions league events and as individuals gone onto outstanding collegiate and professional heights.”

A coach in the area for over 25 years and a staple in the club’s staff since 2012, Bellefeuille has been the Director of Coaching for U11 & U12, the Sounders Junior Program Valley Director and overseen the club’s Select program for many years.

“It is an honor that the club has entrusted me to oversee the Girls program for the U10-U12 age group, helping guide and develop them for that next step into the U13 and above levels,” said Bellefeuille. “Watching the development and growth of the players from the grassroots level at U10 to where they are at today is such a great feeling. Having a coaching staff, parents and players that believes in our club philosophy and how we play is so important in the development of these young players. I am so thankful for the opportunity to continue to work with this age group and look forward to the growth of these young players both on and off the field.”
