The Spokane Sounders are pleased to announce that coach Mike Pellicio has been named the new U8-U10 Sounders Junior Program South Hill Director, preparing the next generation of players at the earliest stages in their development.

A San Diego native, Pellicio is an experienced coach that has been a part of the Spokane Sounders staff as well as the Sandpoint Strikers and ODP programs. In addition, he is a coaching education instructor for US Soccer with a focus on the grassroots level.

“We are thrilled to have Mike back within the Spokane Sounders team working with our players,” said Technical Director Abbas Faridnia. “Having Mike as part of our SJP staff utilizing his expertise as a US Soccer Grassroots Coaching Instructor takes our program to a whole new level as we continue to provide the best instruction for our youngest players as well as volunteer coaches, who may one day also become club coaches as several others have done previously.”

Pellicio will not only be working to imbue skills and passion into the youngest generation within the club but will provide a glimpse into their potential future as was recently announced to also be returning to the club to serve as the Shadow Men’s First Team Head Coach once again.

“I’m so excited to return to Spokane Sounders and have the opportunity to work with the club’s youngest players and cultivate a lasting love for the game while also encouraging inquisitive, life-long learners,” said Pellicio.

“I’m so fortunate to walk through soccer fields and run into players who have come through this program, now thriving in their environments and lives. I will never get tired of seeing players fulfill their true potential both on and off the field.”
