The Girls Academy League (GA) is the leading youth development platform for the best female soccer players in the United States. Uniquely structured, the GA is the only national youth soccer platform that represents the collective vision of member clubs and actively engages the voice of the players to take real ownership in the league.

The GA’s distinctive collaborative philosophy creates a culture guided by a shared set of core values, which produces an unparalleled experience uniquely designed in the best interest of the players. The GA embraces the desire of club members and GA players alike to maintain an unrivaled standard of excellence in coach, competition, and regional and national showcase events throughout the year. Lastly, the GA is committed to cultivating an environment that empowers each player to reach their best potential as an exceptional athlete and human being by celebrating the player’s journey with a lifelong love of the game through competition, showcases and camaraderie.

“We are excited to be a part of a league that furthers the development of our players at the highest level available in our region and the opportunity to maximize college exposure for our players,” said Girls Director of Coaching and College Advisor Kevin Moon. “We are also thrilled to be in a league that has leadership in Commissioner Lesle Gallimore – former long-time University of Washington head coach – that not only brings a collegiate perspective via her experience, but also understands some of the unique off the field challenges and demands that the sport holds outside of the longstanding soccer development hotbeds of California, Florida and the northeast.”

The GA’s focus has led to a membership in the Northwest of the top clubs in the region and beyond. In addition to facing some of the stiffest competition in the region, the ladies have also faced top talent out of California in league play as well as some of the best clubs in the nation at National GA Events held throughout the year.

The Competition:
Bridge City Soccer Academy
Capital FC
Eugene Timbers
EW Surf
ISC Gunners
OL Reign Academy
Washington Timbers

The level of competition and membership of the GA makes it a leader in recruiting potential with scouts – ODP and collegiate – regularly watching players in league play as well as club and player events conducted by the GA.

A longtime leader in producing talented female athletes, Spokane Sounders have placed more players onto collegiate and pro programs than all other youth clubs combined in our area.

With our players now having the ability to be showcased on a national platform this will only increase. Kelcie Hedge and Kelsey Turnbow are the most recent pro players with both being drafted and now playing regularly in the NWSL with the Houston Dash and San Diego Wave, respectively.

Each of our graduating players had options to attend and play collegiate soccer, though some players have chosen to attend school without playing to focus on their academic and professional careers.
