The Elite Clubs National League has long been a leader among national platforms for boy’s soccer, but more specifically, the ECNL Boys Northwest Conference features the best of the best.
With the absolute top clubs in the region – several of which rank among the best in the Pacific and nationally – the Spokane Sounders faces the most challenging competition week in, week out when it takes to the pitch, providing a learning environment beyond anything else available in the Inland Northwest.
“There is no better league in the northwest to be in as a club or player than the ECNL Boys – it is hands down the most elite provider of competition, development and opportunity,” said Boys Coaching Director Jay Vela. “Facing difficult opponents on a weekly basis is the best environment for developing next tier players that will face similar experiences at the next level, which we are proud to be seeing happen with players advancing to collegiate opportunities each year.”
Spokane Sounders have placed more players onto collegiate and pro programs than all other youth clubs combined in our area.
In the last few years we have had Ray Serrano and Chris Perretti called into professional environments (MLS – Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake, respectively). Serrano is currently playing professionally with Louisville City and Perretti is a member of powerhouse and 2021 Final Four program University of Washington, playing alongside fellow recent alum Jadon Bowton.
Each graduating player has had the option to attend and play collegiate soccer, though some players have chosen to attend school without playing to focus on their academic and professional careers.
Part of that platform of opportunity comes from the constant exposure the players receive as being members of ECNL Boys through the high caliber of competition and National Events the league conducts throughout the year that Spokane Sounders compete in. As the top league, the ECNL Boys features arguably the best recruiting opportunity.
