With the fall season fully under way the Spokane Sounders contingent of Girls Academy teams are preparing for their second campaign as conference representatives in the GA Champions Cup, which will begin at the Winter Showcase in late November in Norco, CA at the SilverLakes Sports Complex.

A year ago, the Spokane Sounders represented as the second member – and lone representative from the Pacific Northwest – of the more wide-ranging Northwest Conference that included a contingent of California sides.

Last year with its own Pacific Northwest Conference the ladies repeated as the best team from the region, finishing as the only club among the eight to be in the top three of the table in all six age groups during the 2022-23 season. They were conference champions in four age groups along with a second and third place finish, finishing with an overall record of 71-14-7 (2.38 points per game average). Two other clubs had three top three finishes – OL Reign Academy (1.82 PPG) and Washington Timbers (1.86 PPG).

Champions Cup – Winter Showcase Dates

U14 (G2010) :: November 30 – December 2

With the high school age groups currently idle due to school seasons, the G2010 and G2011 age groups are the only sides active for the fall season. Both are off to excellent starts, challenging for the league leads after the opening five-plus weeks of play. The older groups will begin conference play in January.
