Through these unprecedented times, COVID-19 has brought about circumstances unheard of in our generation. The global pandemic has restructured, within the last month, every aspect of life. For each of our club’s families in Spokane and North Idaho this spring has been nothing any of our families, or us, could have planned for.

For the local youth soccer player and each of their families, the pandemic has caused undue stress, anxiety, pressure and many other burdens that Washington East, IEYSA United, Timbers/Thorns North, FC Spokane, FC North Idaho, and Spokane Sounders want to try and help mitigate as much as we can. Our clubs, together, are finalizing plans through these trying times.

Due to the uncertainty around the situation. We will have a different plan for our spring season options than what the PSPL is suggesting. As a community we are hopeful to have an option for spring season that fits our community. The above listed clubs believe we can achieve that goal by collaborating. Details will follow as we navigate through the proper health and government channels.

Our clubs working together at a local level, allows us to be more fluid and quickly adjust as details come forth from our local health organizations of what we are allowed and not allowed to do. Safety is of our utmost priority in all of our planning and we will be following the guidelines put forth by the CDC, national, state, and local health officials.

As we are allowed to slowly ease back to the normalcy of our society, based upon the safest avenues provided by our local health and government, we understand that travel will be limited as society starts to open back up. By having a local plan together, we hope to ease through all of the phases put forth by local health agencies as we all work back to normalcy. We also understand that items can change in a moment’s notice and together we feel at a local level we can be more fluid and can quickly adjust as more information is put forth. Again, safety being our utmost concern.

We will have the details out in the next week. We appreciate everyone’s patience through the ever evolving and dynamic time of dealing with COVID-19.

Updates for teams in RCL, ECNL and U10 leagues will be communicated directly to the membership as they become available.
