With continued group play still to go for the older girls groups, the outlook on the spring State Cup and Presidents Cup tournaments is very positive for the Spokane Sounders with nine teams already advancing from their groups and another eight in contention to do so over the next few weeks.

Advanced to Elimination Rounds

B2005 Rave – State Cup – The Boys kicked off their U14 tournament with a 2-0-1 record in group play with wins against Eastside FC White B and PacNW Maroon A on either side of a 2-2 draw against WPFC Black A to reach the Final Four coming up May 4 & 5.

G2005 Rave – State Cup – The ladies finished with the best mark in U14 tournament group play at 3-0-2, advancing to the Final Four May 4 & 5 with a four-point margin. Their run started with a pair of wins over FS Surf A and Whatcom Rangers Gold. They then played to a pair of 1-1 draws against Snohomish United Black A and Washington Timbers Red 1 before wrapping up with a victory against Eastside Reign Academy 2.

G2006 Rave – State Cup – In the U13 tournament the ladies split against Seattle United Copa A in a group dominated by Seattle United ECNL, but advanced to the quarterfinals as the runner-up in the group and will face WPDC ECNL A on Saturday.

G2007 Valley Rave – State Cup – A victory in their final U12 group game was enough to earn a wildcard berth into the quarterfinals. They will face Crossfire Premier A Saturday.

B2005 Shale – Presidents Cup – A 2-1-1 record for the boys in the U14-D2 bracket earned the side a spot in the quarterfnals this weekend against Harbor Premier. They opened with a draw against Crossfire Premier D and handily cruised past Crossfire Premier E in their second game. After dropping a narrow affair to Blackhills Black A they rebounded with a big win over Snohomish United Black A to advance.

B2007 South/Valley Rave – Presidents Cup – The boys swept through their U12-D2 group to set up a home quarterfinal contest Saturday at home against PacNW White C. After a narrow win over MVP Rapids Navy in the opener they cruised to the other three wins by a minimum four goal margin in each.

B2007 City Rave – Presidents Cup – With a 3-1-0 record the boys tied for lead in their U12-D2 group with Harbor Premier, advancing to a quarterfinal match at NSC Green Fuerza. The boys dominated the first two by a 12-2 total scoreline before falling to Harbor Premier Green A. They rebounded with a 3-2 win against Snohomish United Black A.

G2006 Shale – Presidents Cup – The ladies rebounded from a narrow loss in their U13-D2 opener to PSA Force with victories against FWFC White and WPFC White C to set up a quarterfinal home match against Snohomish United Red B Saturday.

G2007 City Rave – Presidents Cup – The girls dominated their U12-D2 group with wins in all four group games to advance to a home quarterfinal match Saturday against Crossfire Premier C. In group play they defeated PacNW Maroon A, FME Fusion, Washington Rush B and Snohomish United Red B.

Still in Contention in Group Play

G2000 Rave – State Cup – The ladies split their first two games in the U19/20 Bracket, falling narrowly to GS Surf A in the opener of the group before rebounder with a 1-0 win against PacNW Maroon A. They travel to face both again to close out the group over the next few weeks.

G2001 Rave – State Cup – The team is one of two to win their first two games out of the gate in the U18 tourney, downing PacNW Maroon A and Kitsap Alliance A handily. They finish out their slate on the road against Washington Rush A and at home against WPFC Black B over the next few weeks.

G2002 Rave – State Cup – The U17 bracket is just underway with the ladies playing PacNW Maroon A to a 1-1 draw in their opener. Group play continues with a trip to Washington Rush A and a home game against Seattle United Copa A.

G2003 Rave – State Cup – The ladies are off to a great start in the U16 tournament with a pair of wins over Harbor Premier Green A and GS Surf A. They finish up with a trip to Three Rivers Black and a home game against Washington Rush A.

G2004 Rave – State Cup – In the U15 bracket the ladies opened with a big win over PacNW Maroon A and then played to a scoreless stalemate against Eastside Reign Academy 2. They face both again to finish up the group.

G2003 Shale – Presidents Cup – In the U16-D2 bracket the ladies are currently first in their group with wins over both Kent United Green and FME Fusion. They play both again this weekend on the road to close out the group.

G2004 Shadow United – Presidents Cup – With a game to go in their U15-D1 bracket the ladies are still in the hunt for a quarterfinal spot having played the two leaders WPFC Black B and Crossfire Premier A to a pair of draws. Two points back, they finish up against RSA Elite Black at home Sunday as the other two square off.

G2004 Shale – Presidents Cup – The ladies dropped their first contest to U15-D2 group leader Crossfire Select, but are will be credited with a victory for a team dropping out and have their final group match at home Sunday against Eastside FC Blue C with a shot at the quarterfinals possible.
