It is early in the college season when the younger players get a look so here’s a quick round-up of how some of the first-year college players are doing so far… AND IT’S PRETTY GOOD!

Let’s start with a few that seem to have cemented themselves into the squads already through the first portion of the official season games.

Probably to no surprise the duo of Ella Carnahan and Grace Martinson have played in all five games for Embry-Riddle AU. Carnahan, in a more offensive role, already also has a start and a goal on the season as they have a 2-2-1 record.

Similarly, Cadence Peroff is off to a hot start at Arizona Christian, starting all five games and netting a goal as they are off to a 3-1-1 start.

Also getting on the scoring ledger already is Makayla Werner at Gonzaga, who has an assist and has started all six games. Fellow Zag first-years Emily Todd (six games) and Abbie Sicilia (one game) have also seen action.

Scoring for CC Spokane is Reese Walker. She has two tallies and an assist in her three games played with Karlee Whitehead also contributing an assist. Kaiti Low has also played in all three games.

Marking her mark with shutouts in her first two appearances at Grinnell is Peyton Dixon, who has her squad off to a 2-0-0 start with four saves in her pair of wins.

Players also seeing action so far in their debut college campaigns are Emersyn Heuett (Eastern Oregon), Rebecca Hines (Whitworth), Olivia Azzollini (Pacific), Faith Shaw (Biola), Addy Litscher (Carroll), Tanner Watkins (Gonzaga) and Bryce Allred, who has played in three games for UNLV. Also, on the boys side Cameron Kreider is on the cusp of breaking through at Saint Martin’s, having scored a game-winner while playing in their exhibition matches.
