The Spokane Sounders are extremely proud of its member players for an outstanding fall high school season that ultimately saw 47 players earn postseason awards from their leagues this season. Among them 17 of the First and Second Team selections in the Greater Spokane League hailed from the club and five were recognized as MVPs in the GSL, NEA and in North Idaho.

Finishing as the leader in points and goals in the Greater Spokane League this season was Bullpup Jennah Wanner. Her 12 goals and four assists – tied for sixth – combined for 28 points on the campaign and led to GSL Offensive MVP honors as Gonzaga Prep rolled to an unbeaten 9-0 league season. She also added six goals in non-league games and tallied two goals and four assists in the postseason.

Fellow Spokane Sounders on the Bullpups squad that were All-League selections were goalkeeper Peyton Dixon (First Team), defender Keagan Austin (First Team), midfielder Tess Keyes (First Team), defender Addy Litscher (Second Team) and midfielder Nora Watson (Second Team).

Also making the GSL All-League First Team this fall were Caeli Dornay (D, Lewis & Clark), McKinley Ullman (D, University), Karlee Whitehead (D, Mt Spokane), Bre Koscielski (M, Mt Spokane), Cami Hattenburg (F, Mt Spokane) and Emily Todd (F, North Central).

Leading the league in assists and the Mead Panthers to the top 3A seed in the postseason with a record of 7-2 was Reese Walker. She finished with eight on the campaign and logged five goals as well to finish top ten in points. A Second Team selection, she was joined by teammate and fellow Sounder Mia Speir (goalkeeper)on the Second Team.

Only two freshman were among the players honored in the Greater Spokane League. Quinn Mueller (M, Ridgeline) and Mallory Olson (G, Central Valley) were recognized on the Honorable Mention list.

At the 2A tier of the GSL, another group of Sounders also helped lead West Valley to an unbeaten 10-0 league campaign. The trio of defender Abbie Sicilia, Genesis Willis and Ashlyn Chase were all named First Team selections for the Eagles, who dominated the league and ran away with the title. Chase opened the playoffs with two goals and went on to tally another two goals and two assists before their exit in the State Quarterfinal. Joining the trio on the First Team were sophomore midfielder Rebecca Skinner (Clarkston) and midfielder Vanna Chun (Pullman) along with Second Team choice Keeley Franklin (M, Pullman).

A pair of Spokane Sounders swept the Northeast A League’s top honors with Grace Martinson (Deer Park) being named Defensive MVP and Ayanna Tobeck (Lakeside) the Offensive MVP. Their two sides featured in a wild series of games this season as they each finished 11-1 in the NEA. Deer Park took the opener at home 4-0 and looked to be cruising to an unbeaten season when the Eagles fired back with a 3-0 win at home that stunned the Lady Stags, who were dominating the match until Tobeck’s opener at the hour mark. Both continued on their way until they met once again on neutral territory for the district final on a frigid, rainy evening at SFCC. Deer Park once again controlled the contest, but a late winner against the run of play gave Lakeside the district title.

The duo were not alone in receiving NEA honors. Ella Carnahan (M, Deer Park), Aubrey Gregory (M, Freeman) and Brooklyn More (F, Lakeside) were named to the All-League list.

On the other side of the border a handful of other Spokane Sounders were recognized for their play in the Inland Empire League and Intermountain League. Earning 4A IEL MVP honors was Lilliana Brinkmeier (Sandpoint) – who earned the award as a sophomore – and 3A IML MVP Rebekah Hines (CDA Charter). Brinkmeier helped lead Sandpoint to fourth at state, falling in penalties in the consolation match. Hines’ teammate Alexa Sheppard was also recognized on the All-League list. Also earning All-League honors were a pair of IEL 4A boys Tyler Kindelspire and Nicolas Odberg – both sophomores at Moscow – and the IEL 5A girls trio of Kaylie Smart (Coeur d’Alene), Eva Steele (Lewiston) and Olivia Azzolini (Lake City), who helped lead the team to third at state.

Three players were also received All-League honors at the B level in the region with Glenna Soliday (Davenport) and Savanna Briceno (St Georges) honored on the girls side and Tanner Watkins (St Georges) on the boys.
