U11 Seasonal Overview

U11 Premier Seasonal Overview

Training

Teams train twice weekly for 90-minutes each, in their own geographical location.

The team will begin training the week of June 4 and training will run through the summer with two separate one-week breaks, typically the week of July 4 and another one. The team will train through the summer, into the fall, ending around the end of October. Typically, November is taken off and December will be relatively light with futsal training at our futsal facility inside Cravens Coffee. We pick back up with futsal again in January and February as we wait for the snow to clear.

(This has been a great advantage of our teams in their long-term development as players because the futsal training emphasizes ball masters, bravery to rely on skill and decision-making over athleticism, and to experience small-sided games).

Games

U11 teams compete in local leagues, such as the ISL-North and PSPL Inland Copa leagues. We compete against other teams across the landscape of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.

U11 teams will also compete in tournaments such as the Ranier Challenge (Tacoma) or Crossfire (Seattle); the Northwest Cup (Spokane); the Pend Oreille Cup (Sandpoint); the Blue Mountain Exchange (Tri-Cities); the FC Nova Performance Cup (Boise). You can expect to attend roughly four tournaments annually with U11 teams. Teams who excel throughout their season may also attend State Cup in some instances.

Travel

With tournament travel, teams can expect to travel outside of our Eastern Washington/North Idaho bubble maybe twice, once to Seattle or Tacoma and another time to Boise. If a team is attending State Cup, this number will increase.

League home games will be in Spokane, with some of the longer travel distances for league games being Sandpoint, Lewiston, and Tri-Cities.

Competitiveness and program targets

The U11 program is a step up in competition from our SDP (U10) program. The target of the U11 teams will be to familiarize themselves with and impose the club’s style of play and philosophy on the game in these more competitive environments.

Objectives such as building from the back, creating numerical superiority in attack and defending, and creating high quality chances in the final third are meant to be ironed out in this program.

Cost

The cost for U11 teams in the premier programs of Spokane Sounders is $995 for club dues. Uniform costs will be around $200.
