Four Sides Set for GA Playoffs & Showcase

A trio of Spokane Sounders / Shadow teams – G2009, G2010 and G2008 – are set to kick off their postseason campaign this week at the SilverLakes Soccer Complex in northern California this week at the Girls Academy Playoffs along with the G2007 squad participating at the event in the GA Showcase. The club was again one of the top performers in the Pacific Northwest Division with all six sides finishing in the top four in their age groups.

The GA Playoffs & Showcase kicks off Wednesday June 19 with staggered starting dates for the various age groups.

G2009 Playoff Schedule
June 21 1:45 v Florida United

The G2009 squad enters the playoffs as the three-time conference champions after going 14-1-1 this season. The team finished with a 3.5 goals per game average and defensively dominated with just 0.38 allowed per game. They also posted a victory in the GA Champions Cup at the Winter Showcase, downing Utah Celtic.

G2010 Playoff Schedule

The G2010s finished second in the Pacific Northwest at 19-4-1, lighting things up along the way with a 4.13 goals per game average.

G2008 Playoff Schedule

The G2008s were third in the Pacific Northwest at 11-4-1, finishing tied for second in goals scored with an average of 3.56 per game and defensively allowed less than a goal per game at 0.88.

G2007 Showcase Schedule

Participating in the Showcase portion of the event as the fourth place finishers from the conference, the G2007s were fourth in the division at 8-6-2. At the GA Champions Cup Finals in March they won their Round of 16 opener 2-1 against Lonestar SC and then later downed powerhouse Nationals 2-1 in a consolation match after exiting in the quarterfinals. The squad had previously also gone 1-2-0 at the GA Champions Cup at the Winter Showcase with a victory against LA Surf.

Additional Notes from the GA Season

G2005/06
The team was second in the conference at 12-2-2 this season, finishing ranked second in scoring and third in defense tallying a 4.19 goals per game average while allowing just one goal per contest. At the GA Champions Cup Finals they posted a pair of consolation bracket victories against Albion SC San Diego and City SC.

G2011
The G2011s also had a great season with a third place finish at 13-6-5 in their debut GA season.
