Shadow U23 down Oly-Pen; forfeit win awarded to First Team

Following a forfeiture by PDX FC on Friday that closed out the season for the First Team in the NPSL, the Shadow U23 side took the field at the Poo Grounds Saturday and put up a big win against Oly-Pen.
EPLWA Recap: After not scoring at all in two games the previous weekend, the Spokane Shadow exploded for five goals in their 5-3 win over the Oly-Pen Force on Saturday at the Polo Grounds. The Shadow jumped out to an early 3-0 lead behind a Hakeem Rabiu goal in the 13th, an Oly-Pen own goal in the 15th and Danny Alvarez’s strike in the 19th. They made it 4-0 when Cam Weller scored in the 38th. Just two minutes later, the Force started their comeback. Joe Sammartino scored in the 40th, Gilbert de la Luz scored in the 60th and Sammartino made it a one goal game in the 78th. But Kyle Halehale added an insurance goal in the 82nd and the Shadow knocked off the #2 team in the Cascade Conference and improved to 2-4-2 on the season.
