THANK YOU! 2018 Shadow Dinner & Auction Raises $22,000
Monday, March 26, 2018
Spokane SC Shadow is thrilled to share news that the Fifth Annual SSC Shadow Dinner & Auction held March 9 at Hemmingson Center was another great success. Thanks to the generosity of the club’s family and friends, over $22,000 was raised for the club’s financial assistance fund.
In addition to a fantastic array of live auction items, there were over four dozen outstanding baskets sold in the silent auction. Including funds raised through tickets, grab bags and more, the total raised over the course of five years of the annual event has helped bring the seven-year total of financial assistance provided to approximately $320,000.
“The event was very successful, raising over $22,000 for our financial assistance fund,” said SSC Shadow Board of Directors Vice President Kari Moore. “This is due in large part from our Spokane Sounders and Spokane Shadow Select teams that contributed incredible silent auction baskets to the event this year. A huge thank you goes out to the donating teams and to the many team volunteer parents who put these baskets together. Their effort putting the baskets together and collecting donations and funds was amazing! It is a true testament to the community support for the financial assistance program in our club. We are already looking forward to next year’s event and excited for another entertaining and fun evening supporting a great cause in our club.”
The evening was highlighted by an outstanding speech from keynote speaker Dr. Colleen M. Hacker, who provided an educational and entertaining presentation about the mindset needed for success coupled with personal insights and anecdotes from her work with the US Soccer and Hockey women’s teams and other clients she has worked with.
Brilliantly coordinated and managed by Kari Moore, Peggy Clark, Candi Todd, Constantia Red, Heather Torre and Shelley & Jeff Ripley, the night concluded with an energetic live auction – emceed by Dealers Auto Auction Northwest – that included a special visit from the Spokane Police K-9 Division.
“We can not thank our Vice President Kari Moore enough for the amount of volunteer time she has put into our annual fundraiser,” said SSC Shadow Technical Director Abbas Faridnia. “The growth, the vision and the continued success of the fundraiser is a direct reflection of the diligent work and time, that Kari tirelessly puts forth.”
