The Spokane Shadow Women’s First Team is set to embark on the 2023 WPSL campaign with their home opener Saturday at 5:00 at the Spokane SC Complex / Polo Grounds.

The campaign will mark the debut of club alum and Whitworth men’s assistant coach Drew Williams as head coach and feature a lot of familiar faces on the squad as many current youth prospects and returning college alumni are set to take the pitch.

Though the team is expecting more area college players and returning alumni to join the squad over the coming weeks, head coach Drew Williams is excited for what lies ahead.

“In just the short time I have spent with these ladies, this is already a special group of talented players. Even though they are entering into this season at varying points in their careers, they are quickly coming together as a team – a lot of that is their shared background and playing style forged from developing in the club, something that as a fellow alum I am thrilled step right into.”

Highlighting some of the returning alumni will be Kailyn LaBrosse, Emmy Moore and Abby Morrow likely to take the pitch Saturday. Many more are slated to join later this season. Also in the mix for Saturday are graduating players Peyton Dixon and Olivia Olson from the GA Division champion G2004/05 squad.
