Shadow Tripleheader Saturday; Ladies Play Again on Sunday
Friday, June 21, 2019
The heart of the playoff race will be on display this weekend for the Spokane Shadow Women’s and Men’s teams as they take the pitch at Spokane Falls CC Stadium in a series of five games in two days that also features the Shadow U23s and the Fun Zone presented by Northern Capital Management.
WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM… Saturday 2:00 & Sunday 2:00, Fun Zone @ 1:00 – SFCC
The Shadow ladies, the premier women’s sports team in the community, take the field twice in the chase to earn the Northwest Conference title with a pair of games at 2:00 Saturday and Sunday. They host Eugene Timbers Azul in the first contest and Westside Timbers in the second.
The team remains squarely in the hunt for the lone postseason berth from the conference with defending national WPSL champion Sounders Women, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver TSS Rovers in race. The Shadow have played few games than the rest of the pack, but need a bit of help as the Sounders Women hold the tiebreaker should both sides win out.
Fantastic Free Food at the Fun Zone
A new feature at our women’s home games courtesy of Northern Capital Management, the Fun Zone is a party area near the main grandstand that is an area full of fantastic activities and opportunities to win prizes such as free food from a featured vendor, a Kona Ice treat, a Sounders Scarf, USA bracelets and much more! Activities include the Twigs Speed Shoot, drone juggling, air hockey and the GameTruck with video games. And it is all FREE!! This weekend’s awesome vendors are Nordic Smoke BBQ on Saturday and David’s Pizza with 150 free pulled pork sandwich meals / pizza slices up for grabs on the Prize Spinners in the Fun Zone along with 100 Kona Ice treats each day.
Community Support: Courtesy of Northern Capital Management, the leading sponsor for the Women’s First Team, all of the regular season WPSL Spokane Shadow matches will be free for attending fans. NCM is the first of many new area businesses and organizations supporting the women’s team this year. They are joined by: MultiCare Rockwood Integrated Sports Medicine, Clearwater Summit Group, Lyte Balance, BECU and Spokane Sports Commission.
