RCL Round-Up – September 2018

It’s still fairly early in the fall season for many of the teams in action, but its been a rather successful start thus far with a 38-19-3 record overall that includes three boys sides that are unbeaten at least four games into their season and another that is 5-1-0. Here’s a quick look at the early stages of action in the RCL.

2000 Boys

On their opening weekend in road trip in U19-D1 the Rave boys split the weekend, falling at Crossfire Premier before downing Kitsap Alliance. They dropped the next game to current leader Seattle United but Berrick Rastok’s lads have won the last two, including a reversal of their result against Crossfire to sit second in the table just shy of the midway point of their campaign.

2001 Boys

It’s been a rough start for the Rave boys in U18-D2 flight as they have come up short in their first five games.

2002 Boys

A 3-1-1 record has Tim Seely’s Rave boys tied for first a third of the way into the campaign in U17-D1. They opened with a draw at WPFC and a 4-0 win at Crossfire Premier. They dropped their first home game to their co-leader Seattle United 2-1 but won the next two. Meanwhile, Jesse Retan’s Shale squad is red hot in the U17-D3 flight with a perfect four wins in four games to start their season. They won at Seattle United and WPFC to kick the month off and have tallied three goals in each of the two wins at home over the next two weeks against PacNW and WPFC.

2003 Boys

Also off to a high-flying start are Seely’s Rave boys in the U16-D2 flight. They rattled off wins in their opening five games before suffering a 2-1 loss at home to second-place Blackhills on the final day of the month. It started with a pair of 4-1 road wins at Snohomish United and PacNW. They then won three at home against Washington Timbers, FWFC and WPFC in which they allowed just one goal over the three games.

2004 Boys

The Rave boys are barely into their U15-D1 campaign under Rastok. They dropped their first two games on the road, but have already avenged one of those losses, downing visiting Three Rivers in their last game out. Ross Mader’s Shale boys are also only three games into their U15-D4 season. They also lost on the road to begin the season, falling to a Washington Timbers side that is perfect through four games so far this season. They have won both at home since then, however, against Crossfire Premier and FWFC.

2005 Boys

Another Retan side off to a fantastic start are the Rave boys in the U14-D1 flight. A third of the way through they season they are a perfect 6-0, including three wins away from home. One of those road wins was a 3-2 result at second-place Crossfire Premier on the second day of their season-opening road trip. The Rave side in the U14-D3 tier only have two games under their belts so far, but Nick Hamer’s lads are 1-1. They won versus PacNW to kick things off but fell at Crossfire Yakima in their second.

2006 Boys

Also off to an unbeaten start to the season are Mike Pellicio’s Rave boys. They kicked the season off with three wins at home and closed the month with a road trip in which they tied Crossfire Yakima and beat Kitsap Alliance for a 4-0-1 record in U13-D2. Alberto Navarette’s Shale boys are 2-2-0 so far in U13-D4. They split their first two at home before falling on the road to Timbers North, but posted a big win over visiting Washington Rush their last time out.

2005 Girls

Though they are only two games in, Josh Patino’s Rave girls are off to a good start in U14-D1 with a pair of wins at home against Eastside Reign Academy and Whatcom Rangers. Robyn O’Connor’s Shadow United squad is also doing well in the U14-D3 flight. They won their first two at home against Washington Rush and FWFC before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Snohomish United to close out the month.

2006 Girls

It’s been a tough start for Lexi Robison’s squad to kick off the U13-D1 slate. Since winning their opener at Whatcom, they have dropped four in a row. The Shale ladies are doing well for O’Connor, though, in U13-D3 with a 2-1-1 mark. They tied PacNW to open the season and then won at Three Rivers. They wrapped up the season with a split at home, downing Washington Rush and falling in a one-goal decision to WPFC.
