RCL Round-Up – December 2018
Friday, December 21, 2018
As we head toward the new year, we take a look at the fall seasons from the high school boys groups, where the younger boys and girls sides stand midway through their campaigns, and how the high school girls have started from their opening games of their slate. Among the results, two boys sides won their division or earned promotion while two others are atop the table heading into the new year.
2004 Boys
A good start to the campaign for the Rave boys allowed them to weather a rough five-game road road series at the end of the season to finish mid-table with a 4-9-1 record in U15 Division 1. The Shale lads, meanwhile, used a strong finish with three wins in their final four to complete their campaign with a mid-table finish as well with a 5-6-1 record.
2003 Boys
Another fantastic campaign saw the Rave boys finish just one point short of the league winners in the U16 Division 2 flight with their 12-2-0 record that saw them split the season series against champion WA Timbers. They went on to earn a spot in the top flight for next season with a victory in their promotional playoff game. The Shale boys, meanwhile, finished mid-table in Division 4 with a 5-5-1 record on the campaign.
2002 Boys
In a very tight race the Rave boys are unbeaten in their last six games (4-0-2) as they head into their season finale with an 8-2-3 record, which has them third. Sitting just three points shy of the league leaders in the U17 Division 1 flight, they face Seattle United in the finale in mid-January with a shot at the championship. Their Shale peers were also extremely successful this season, winning U17 Division 3 with a 10-3-0 record. The team opened the campaign with a seven game win streak and finished with another three game run after dropping both games on either side of Halloween.
2001 Boys
After a very rough start that saw them fall in their first six games the Rave boys finished strong with in the second half of the season to climb off the bottom with a 3-10-1 finish in U18 Division 2.
2000 Boys
Thanks to a pretty good start to the season the Rave boys finished middle of the pack in U19 Division 1 with a 5-7 record this season.
ONGOING…
2006 Boys
A bit of a rough spell over their last four games (1-1-2) has given some hope to chasers Seattle United, but a 9-1-3 record has given the Rave boys a solid seven point lead in U13 Division 2 going into their final five games, which resume in February. While Timbers North are running away with U13 Division 4, the Shale boys are right in the mix with several other sides for a shot at second in the league with a 8-4-3 record that has them four points back for the runners-up position going into their final third of the campaign after the new year.
2005 Boys
The Rave boys are setting the pace in U14 Division 1 with a fantastic start. With a third of the campaign to go after the holidays they currently sit atop the table with a 10-1-1 record and a seven point lead over Crossfire Premier, who they host in their finale after five road games. With half of their campaign still to go in the new year the Shale side (3-6-1) has plenty of room to climb.
2005 Girls
A 7-2-2 record a little beyond the midway point of the campaign has the Rave girls sitting fourth in U14 Division 1, but their fantastic start in a tight, competitive race has them just six points back of the leaders with seven games remaining when things resume in February. The Shale ladies are middle of the table in Division 3 with plenty of room to climb with a 5-8-2 record and seven games remaining starting in February.
2006 Girls
The Rave girls are 2-9-2 with a chance to climb further up the middle of the U13 Division 1 table with five game remaining after the new year. The Shale girls, meanwhile, are leading the mid-table pack in Division 3 with a 7-4-1 record and with five games remaining have a chance to climb into the pack of leaders as they are only six points back the pair tied for third and nine from the leaders.
JUST GETTING STARTED…
2000 & 2001 Girls
The 2000 Rave girls kicked off their campaign with a draw and victory to start their campaign in U19 Division 1 and will resume the season with a January 6 showdown against the 2001 Rave ladies, who are 2-1-0 thus far to start the campaign.
2002 Girls
A road slate to start the season has the Rave ladies at 1-3-0 to start the campaign, which resumes in mid-January.
2003 Girls
The Shale girls have a tough schedule with six road games to start the U16 Division 3 season. They are winless after three and return to action at the end of January.
2004 Girls
Their opening contest for the Rave girls was a scoreless draw at GS Surf in early December for their lone game of 2018 in U15 Division 1. They host the same side mid-January as they kick off the rest of their schedule. The Shale side is an even 1-1-1 after three games in December and return to play with four Division 3 games on the road in January. Their Shadow United counterparts in Division 3, meanwhile, are 2-0-1 from their December slate.
