Continued Coaching Education For All

As summer approaches, continued education and development opportunities continue to be a focus for our Select program to provide the best soccer experience in the community.

The club’s partnership with reigning MLS champion Seattle Sounders FC plays a primary role in that experience and is something unique to our community. Our partnership with one of the nation’s top development programs benefits SSC Shadow and Sounders from top to bottom.

Our Shadow Elite and United coaches take every opportunity to continue their coaching education via this relationship with the Sounders, participating in several workshops and training sessions that have been put on by the Sounders staff right here in Spokane at the Spokane Shadow Soccer Complex. Notably, the Select coaches jumped on each opportunity to get involved in these sessions as they are extremely eager to learn.

While at the classroom and training sessions that are being put on by leaders of the Seattle Sounders Academy staff, our coaches are picking up new coaching methods that have age group and ability-specific tailoring. The sessions are fantastic interactive opportunities for our staff as we gather afterword to discuss the session overall, the interaction with the players, and even work on ways to make the session even better or modify for our specific needs.

In addition to coaching education that provides top-quality training for our Select program, we are planning to offer further development and training opportunities this winter through an indoor winter academy program that will be held at Craven’s beginning in January. Be on the look out for information about that program in the coming weeks as we finalize the details and schedule!
