Coaching History: A second generation coach, Abbas took over as technical director and served the role for six years at the family-led club Spokane Elite (formerly Falcons), which merged with the Spokane Shadow / Sounders in 2012. He served under Sean Bushey until his departure in 2013.

Playing History: Abbas enjoyed great success throughout his career. A decorated player, he helped lead Ferris to a 4A state championship and later was a member of the Bulldogs as Gonzaga University won the West Coast Conference and made its first two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. A local standout, Abbas was one of a handful of elite high school players chosen to play for the USL PDL (now USL League Two) men's side Spokane Shadow as a high school player, enjoying a trip to the PDL National Final in 1999. He also later played for the Seattle Sounders Select, one of only a few PDL teams in history to register upset victories over an MLS opponent in the US Open Cup as they downed Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) in 2001.
