16 Spokane Sounders Players Earn GSL Honors; Moore Named Girls Athlete of the Year
Tuesday, June 14, 2022
The Spokane Sounders congratulate 16 players for earning Greater Spokane League honors for their play this spring, including a GSL Defensive MVP honor for Lewis & Clark’s Maze Mitchell. Also earning a big honor this spring was Livvy Moore.
In what proved to be a dramatic finish to a historic season, North Central came away with what is believed to be the school’s first regular season GSL championship at 7-2. Helping lead the side to history were All-League First Team selection Adrien Ferrasse and former Spokane Shadow coach Matt Leonard, who was named Coach of the Year.
It was quite a race though. Close behind was Lewis & Clark and Mead at 6-3 and the trio of Mt Spokane, Central Valley and Gonzaga Prep at 5-4.
Also recognized this week was Livvy Moore. The Deer Park star was recognized by the Spokesman-Review (filling in for the Spokane Sports Awards show not being held this year) as the 2022 Small School Girls Athlete of the Year for leading the Lady Stags on an amazing state championship run this past fall.
